We have a hymn request from Phoebe to start the day–Standing on the Promises of God, sung by Alan Jackson. Background sets by God the Father.
And the hymn shop is open!

Thank you, Lee. This is such a simple song and yet so strengthening. And, as you probably know, Alan Jackson is one of my favorite singers of Gospel songs.
I like his “no frills” approach, and his generally mellow treatment of everything he sings. I don’t like music in which the singer is yelling at you.
I like this singer, too. Have a cd of his. This is a good old song, too. I have a trip to make this morning, so may not be back for a while, but maybe later in the day. Have fun, everybody.
I’ll be leaving the house in a little while, too, for an outing with a friend. I’d say “for lunch with a friend,” but with this friend, by the time we get through lunching and post-lunch ice-creaming and mostly talking our heads off, it’s almost suppertime. (Not that we have room left for supper.) So, Lee, Erlene and I aren’t deserting you — although for part of the afternoon I’ll be “desserting.” 🙂
I will be sitting outside trying to write my book. Something tells me it’s gonna be cold.
On solid ground I stand when the promises of God are my foundation. I would like to request a song in honor of Glen Youngkin winning the Virginia Gov. race (and we almost saw the defeat of the New Jersey Devil Governor). http://biggeekdad.com/2014/09/john-wayne-1970/#.VCHJXVfNNJ8.email
Thanks for that, White Rabbit! I’ll post it right now.
