‘He Hideth My Soul’

It’s been a while since I posted this hymn–He Hideth My Soul, a classic hymn by Fanny Crosby. She wrote eight or nine thousand hymns, you know. I wonder how long it would take to play all of them.

  1. Thanks for placing that wonderful hymn here. It was comforting to listen to it tonight, as I thought about two of my sons. My son Samuel, a few weeks ago, had problems breathing and great pain in his chest, which after tests were done, confirmed, he also has the same heart condition which took his mother. My oldest, Nathan, has MS, and is now bedridden, and going downhill, quickly. The other day he had a fever of 104, and with that, all kinds of problems that that high of a temperature can cause. His mother sent me a few pictures, and a video (not a pretty sight, so hard to watch my firstborn going through this sickness, and knowing there is not much I can do) of what she was dealing with in taking care of him. Unless God heals him, I believe he will soon be with the Lord.

I shared with a friend some thoughts about the troubles I have gone through during my life. It’s about 1,000 words or so. That is probably much too long for the comments, so, I will not place it here. But, if you would like to read them, I will see if I can edit them a bit to shorten them. It’s up to you brother Lee.

    1. In the meantime, we offer up prayers for him.

If you would like to share that essay here, I’ll look for some way to accommodate it. I don’t know how to “import” a 1,000-word package, but I’m sure there must be some way to do it.

Prayers all around for you and your family.

    2. Thank you, brother. I am going to work on it, and edit it, a lot. I will attach it to an email.

  2. How I would like it said of me that I wrote eight or nine hymns, but eight or nine thousand? – WOW! Can you imagine what she is doing in heaven now? Prayers for Elder Mike’s family.
