This is one of the many carols we play while setting up our Christmas tree on Christmas Eve, and it never fails to stir my soul: fond memories galore. And I’d better shut up or I’ll be shedding tears on the keyboard.
A truly lovely song. I read in St. Matthew chapter 2 today about Herod and the Wise Men. The words in this carol do not line up with Scripture. Too bad Herod wasn’t a good king.
