A few of you have blogs of your own. Some of you visit other blogs. Maybe you can help me to understand what I’m seeing in the blogosphere, these days.
From what I see, and I’m only one pair of eyes, conservative and Christian blogs all over are bottoming out. In my own case, immediately after Jan. 1 my viewer numbers crashed to 2015 levels. No gradual tapering off: just a crash. Like a plane shot out of the sky, or a ship torpedoed.
Have any of you had this experience?
I’m convinced that someone out there in Big Tech is suppressing our free speech. I am not prepared to believe that suddenly no one wants to read anymore.
Our new Republican House of Representatives is making noises like it wants to tear out a big chunk of Big Tech’s pants and chase ’em up a tree. You saw (here, yesterday) Rep. Nancy Mace sock it to the chief of Twitter’s law division. Is somebody up there panicking? (“Shut them down! Shut all those people down, damnit!”)
Have you seen or heard of any other blogs lately losing tons of readership? (I have!) What do they think is causing it? Some very popular YouTube sites are also suddenly nowhere near as popular as they were just recently. Why?
I’m ready to believe it’s Biden’s FBI that’s doing it. How about you?
I definitely saw a fall-off, although I thought it was just people running away from me. Again. (And it never seems to save my details… *sigh*. It’s ALL broken.)
Someone would just love for us to believe it’s all our fault, we’ve alienated our audience. My blog had steady growth–until now! Now it’s shrinking.
My thought is that Christian or conservative bloggers ought to help each other by reblogging, etc. I don’t know how much good that’ll do, if any. But I guess we should at least try.
***Watch our numbers bounce back if certain thinks happen in Congress soon.
You’ve heard of information overload. Well, it is bad news overload now. The immense volume I believe has caused many, even myself, to start limiting my access and readership of what is available in the blogusphere. If it weren’t for faith and hope in God many would just give up.
I try to offer a lot of things besides the news. True, by the time Friday rolls around, I’m noozed out. Hence the hymns, prayer requests, and humorous features. None of it seems to be working lately.
