NBA’s Oppressed Millionaires Confer with Pope on [barf!] ‘Social Justice’
Speaking of the NBA, I remember when Michael Jordan used fairly big chunks of his own money–not yours, not mine, not anybody else’s– to perform works of charity face-to-face. But we are not talking Michael Jordan here. We are talking about five idiots and a communist.
You need a machete to cut through the hypocrisy.

Where do these millionaires get their money from? They get paid from the NBA. Where does the NBA get the money to pay these millionaires? From the fans (idiots) who still attend their games. I am sorry if I offend those on this blog who may attend sports games. But the only way to cure this insanity. Stop giving them money. Which means stop going to their games. All it would take, just one season for most of the fans to stop attending their games.
I have never given them a dime. For I have never attended any of their games.
Well, as they say, that will be a cold day in hell. We can only pray that that day does come soon. And those of you that still do, might want to think long and hard about what I have written.
Patty and I used to go to games at Yankee Stadium: pretty good seats for $25. But then they started charging $250 (!?) for the same seats… so that was that, for us.
That’s a good point, Mike. I believe in the free market, but these stratospheric salaries couldn’t happen unless people were paying stratospheric prices. They don’t get any of my money.
What the free market will bare, that is the amount that will be paid to players. As long as people pay those prices, the best players will receive millions in pay. Serena Williams, Roger Federer, and Tom Brady have more than $2 billion in combined pre-tax earning across their pro careers.
I definitely don’t believe that sports figures are worth nearly that much. I’m fine with sports, love music, etc. but I don’t think that being a gifted athlete or musician should mean fabulous wealth.
