The Smartest People In The World (self-anointed!) want to be our gods and kings, and to this end have labored tirelessly for years. They’re so close to their goal, they can almost taste it. “Push! Push! Just a little harder! We’re gonna have a global government!” With themselves sitting on top of the heap.
But will they really go all the way? All the way to the top of the pyramid? And if so, how long can they stay up there without falling off?
Some instinct, some feeling in my fallible political scientist bones, whispers to me that the normal people, the regular people, are getting so damned sick of this ****, they could just scream: and they won’t tolerate much more of it. When the government has to hire goons in skull masks to intimidate the public and stop ’em from stealing or trashing the government’s spy cams–well, Toto, I don’t think we’re in Kansas anymore.
Populists and conservatives are winning elections in unlikely places like the Netherlands, Argentina, and Sri Lanka. Donald Trump will be our president again–unless Democrats update their electoral fraud machine. And another Pandemic’s probably in the works–not to fear! We’ll just have mail-in ballots! Heh-heh! Wow, look at that–400 million votes for Biden! Guess we gonna have a Mandate!
Are we really going to put up with this again? And John Kerry’s out there, saying we produce too much food and gotta cut way back To Save The Climate. The lost Marx brother.
If there was ever a time for pushback, that time is now. Read Tom Paine’s Common Sense. This is how a republic gets born. Ours needs rebirth.
Great post, Lee – NewsWithViews material. The problem is the Left is already on top of the mountains – it is up to true patriots to take those mountains back. We need a sleeping, lethargic, escapist church to awaken to the spiritual battle that has been going on since ancient days. Why did Jesus have to be confronted by Satan for the three temptations? Their kingdoms are on a collision course for dominance of the world. The earth already is the Lord’s, but the world has yet to conform to Jesus commands – that is what the Great Commision is all about. That is where Christ’s body the church comes in.
Some of those mountains they’re sitting on will turn out to be volcanoes.
I’ve had several interesting conversations regarding this very subject, with people whose opinions I greatly respect. The answer? The only honest answer is that we do not, and can not know the future. I believe that the events of the last few years are momentous, and I wonder where it will all lead, but then again, there have been other momentous times when all looked lost, and then things turned around.
What bothers me about our day is the spiritual emptiness seen in so many, these days. There are a lot of people who are satisfied with getting stoned, living on the dole, and pursuing empty pleasures, giving no thought to any greater purpose, whatsoever. When we see politicians who are obviously corrupt, and see that these people are accepted and even lionized by the great unwashed, that is a symptom.
In the late ‘70s, there was a national malaise. Young people then saw little hope for their future, a lot of people were just getting by, and couldn’t afford much. I’m pretty certain that beer sales were quite brisk, however. Five years later, it was morning in America and we really seemed to be doing better. There were ups and downs, but it seemed like there was some sense of hope. That ended, I would say, in the late 2000s, and we’ve wobbled ever since, but it’s not the malaise era relived, but something even worse.
One thing that I realize about myself, is that for all of the analytic skill I’ve developed from a career in technical work, I’m lousy; no, make that very lousy; at predicting the future. My success rate is nothin’ to write home about. I’ve made some great predictions, which have proven true, but probably twice as many which have not.
If, and the operative word is “if”, IF this is the run up to the return of Christ, then we know the final score of the game, but history is filled with people that just knew Christ was about to return, so while we should be aware of the prophecies and be watchful, we can’t count on our own understanding, and we must do our best to live a decent, productive life, in the meantime.
