‘Headed for the Rocks?’ (My Newswithviews Column, Feb. 22)

Historic Valley Forge

Today’s George Washington’s birthday. He’d be appalled if he could see us now. “I went through winter at Valley Forge for that?”

Headed for the Rocks?

Really–is this an ongoing scientific experiment, authorized by our beloved Leaders, to see how much abuse our republic can take before it collapses altogether?

(It’s the winter of 1777 and Washington tries to rally his battered troops by showing them glimpses of their country’s future. “Come on, boys! This is for President Joe Biden!” Half the army drops dead on the spot. The other half flees in terror…)

  1. George Washington had deserters hung or shot. He and his fellow officers like Alex Hamilton did not put up with drunkenness or insubordination. Soldiers would be whipped for using profane language.
