The Romans wrecked their republic. Can we keep ours?
In voting unanimously, 9-0, that individual states can’t remove candidates from the ballot in a national election, the Supreme Court has very likely saved us from a very messy situation. We might have been taking the first steps toward the destruction of our Constitutional republic.
Not that Democrats would shed a tear for that!
Republics are not invincible. The Romans wrecked theirs, big-time. That history is messy, violent, and ugly.
“We had to destroy the country in order to rule it.”
They don’t say it, but I’m convinced they believe it.
All I can say is that a pray for this nation, daily.
Jesu defend us!
We lost our Republic after the Civil War and it has just gotten worse, but God can restore it through a faithful people to His law and Word. The Bible is full of historical narratives where God did just that – Ninevah come to mind.

Sometimes it’s mighty hard to ignore it.
