How about a good old Sunday school favorite? Here’s Tennessee Ernie Ford with Bringing in the Sheaves. (Most of us didn’t know what “sheaves” were, but we sung it with gusto anyway.)

I found, a short time ago, that many people still didn’t know what sheaves were until I showed them, back in the O.T. how the sheaves explained the group of righteous dead that the Lord raised from their graves just after He rose from the tomb. There was the connection between O.T. and N.T.
Where in the NT can I find that co-resurrection? I think I know… but I know you know.
It is Matthew 27:52, which tells of the raising of others at HIS resurrection. He had said, “I did not come to do away with the Torah (O.T.). I came to fulfill” This is one of the fulfillments of
sacrifices – the Feast of Firstfruits. Not just one stalk was to be accepted, but a sheaf. He needed alll these others to add to His resurrection to form that sheaf.
Thanks, Erlene.
Very interesting.
As we study, we find that old test. and new test. connect on everything- if we just notice as we read along.
America started out as an agrarian society, now the farmers are far and few. Most city slickers do not even know what sheaves are. Some might think it is a misspoken word for Jeeves the butler 🙂
