Your State Senator Is Drunk

Democratic Colorado State Senator Faith Winter announced she is getting substance abuse treatment one day after showing up to a public meeting drunk

State senator! Public policy maker! Drunk.

So… She’s a state senator in Colorado–Democrat, of course–committee chairwoman… sort of an important person. Having agreed to participate  in a public hearing on a scheme to open up a halfway house for sex offenders, in the same neighborhood as a grade school, she shows up late, dressed like a ragamuffin, forgets she’s there to be on the panel, not to sit in the audience…

And she’s drunk (https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-13274125/Democrat-Colorado-state-senator-Faith-Winter-treatment-drunk-meeting.html). Blotto. Crocked.

She has resigned her committee chair and says she’s going into therapy for alcohol abuse. Her cohorts in the senate expect her back soon. Or so they say. Translation: “when the heat dies down.”

Really, we have to be a bit more choosy about whom we elect to represent us in public business. No country ever suffered a disaster for which its leaders were not to blame.

Is America in good hands?

Sure doesn’t look that way.

  1. Colorado has truly gone downhill. Just yesterday, I met someone else from Denver and while we reminisced about the good things, we both agreed that neither of us would care to go back to, considering the changes of the last 20 years.

So this doesn’t surprise me one bit. The character of the place is now that of a drug haven. They were on the leading edge of legalizing recreational marijuana, and as soon as that happened, I lost the only place I have ever considered to be home.

    1. It pathetic. The Denver of my teens and twenties was a wonderful town, with real personality. Now, it’s a landlocked tribute to LA, and I avoid LA.

  2. America is in enemy hands since Biden took over as he replaced most of Trumps’s America First Executive Orders. When Trump gets back in, he will undo most of Biden’s America Last Executive Orders. Is this any way to run a country? Heck no, it is all unconstitutional, but we are stuck with it for the time being. A bright light of things to come is one of the U.S. Senators of Nebraska has switched from the baby killing Dems to the pro-life G.O.P.

    1. Political quote of the year, from Sen. Fetterman (who was pitched to the voters as a brain-dead wreck who would vote however they told him to): “I am not woke.”
