‘Can You Name a Book? Any Book?’ (2018)

“Books? Oh, yes, we have books!”

We have the costliest and most intrusive “education” regime in world history–and what do we get out of it?

Illiterates. Stunatas.

‘Can You Name a Book? Any Book?’

Writing and reading–without them, there’s no civilization. The best we can do is hand down stories by word of mouth; and if you’ve ever played “telephone,” you know how the message gets distorted over time.

Is it necessary to ask, “Well, then, what the dickens are they learning in those public schools, if they don’t read?”

I think we all know the answer to that question.

  1. This astounds me. Since I first to read, I’ve read books pretty much continuously. That means thousands of books since I was 5 years old. When I wanted to learn something, I used a book as a starting place. If I wanted entertainment, there were novels. I received books as gifts and books and knew the floor plan of the local library like the back of my hand. I realize that not everyone wants to read daily, but I can’t imagine not at least making use of books to some extent.
