Suddenly I couldn’t bear to post the nooze item I had originally scheduled for this slot. It’s Fourth of July, it’s a holiday: who wants to hear from our decrepit ruling class? It’d be nice if we showed some independence on Independence day.
Instead of nooze, I felt a passion for this hymn, this good old-fashioned hymn–Shall We Gather at the River, sung by Burl Ives.
How about that? I feel better already.
