R.J. Rushdoony taught that man loves slavery more than freedom. Freedom requires discipline and responsibility, whereas slavery just involves doing what someone else decides for him as he goes non-thinkingly about his life. Slavery is for those whose soul is dead – freedom is for those whose soul has been made alive by the Spirit of God.
