My Day Today

We can listen to more carols this morning (Do You Hear What I Hear? by Martina McBride), but for me the whole afternoon will be taken up with various errands… and a visit to the doctor’s office.

I’ve lost track of what the assorted doctors mean to do to me. I didn’t used to be afraid of doctors–but boy howdy, that’s changed! There’s only so much pain that anyone can stand. I think I’m close to using up my quota.

I’ll try to touch base when I get back.

  1. I’ve been witness to this with my father throughout the year, with hernia and cancer surgeries. There’s a frustration too, with all the info coming from all directions. I put together a binder for all of his paperwork and put a small calendar in as well to keep track of who/when/what for.

All of the adversity makes the rare good news coming from the docs that much sweeter, though.

Haven’t stopped praying for you both.

  2. The prayers continue from this end, too. I fully understand all this. My first husband was in and out of hospital for a year, every hospital east of the Cascades and other clinics. I spent a year caring for him at home between hospital visits, doing all kinds of things such as nurses do, and was questioned by one where I had taken my nurses training. I never did, but I knew what to do by watching what they did. Then after he passed, my second husband was diagnosed with cancer too, and it all began again. Prayer and strength from the Lord is the only way to get through these times. I hold you both up at least morning and evening every day. Meantime, you are doing great here and don’t worry, we are with you.

  3. I won’t be able to write much today because I’m having serious pain from my old Air Force back injury and it’s making me a bit fuzzy-headed. (More than usual, that is.) But you’ve been and will continue to be in my prayers all day. I’m offering some of my pain for you. And I know what you mean about doctors. 🙄

  4. My wife is not afraid of doctors, she just does not trust them. It took a minor miracle to get her to an Urgent Care during this bad flu she has been suffering from. The meds they gave her a working well, but she still doesn’t like the doctor or her assistant that attended to her – what can you do?
