Doctor No. 2: ‘Say You’ve Got Five Years’

I somehow couldn’t find it in myself to post this yesterday. Dr. No. 2 thought it likely I might live for five more years. Oh, boy.

Meanwhile, everybody I know says I look so much better than I did some months ago. I wish I could see that.

If God decides to save me, then that’s that: He will. I would like to finish the books I’d planned to write. I would like to see the Democrat Party go down like a house of cards. Is there even a remote possibility that we’ll ever go fishing again? (What did I do with our outboard motor?)

Get back to work as soon as I can. And pray.

Now my thing is dreams about being dragged back to the hospital, no escape. I have another “test” coming up just this week! Following a day of “dieting,” of course. Nothing like having something to look forward to.

It’s been raining all weekend, so I can’t sit in the sun and calm my spirit.

I have just found out today is Father’s Day. Last time we visited my dad for Father’s Day, we played stickball.

Nobody left for that anymore.

I don’t get decent sleep anymore, and today we have two (!) doctors’ appointments instead of just one! And another one tomorrow. And then a whole bunch of stuff on Monday, leading up to abdominal surgery before the sun comes up on Tuesday.

It’s getting me down.

Well, blog coverage is gonna be pretty spotty for a while. I’ll try to keep it going. It’s one of the few things I can still enjoy.

Let’s see if I can find a hymn to post.

‘Onward Christian Soldiers’

One doctor’s appointment this morning, another this afternoon–sorry, I’ll save the rant for later… if there is a later. Gotta hit the road in a few minutes.

Quick, a hymn! Here’s the first one that popped iuto my head: Onward Christian Soldiers, sung by the Joslin Grove Choral Society.

I hope I can come back and put up some posts. Clock is ticking!

My Day Today

We can listen to more carols this morning (Do You Hear What I Hear? by Martina McBride), but for me the whole afternoon will be taken up with various errands… and a visit to the doctor’s office.

I’ve lost track of what the assorted doctors mean to do to me. I didn’t used to be afraid of doctors–but boy howdy, that’s changed! There’s only so much pain that anyone can stand. I think I’m close to using up my quota.

I’ll try to touch base when I get back.
