The polar party. They all died. Wanting things to be true does not make them true.
First a quote from Slojo Biden: “We choose truth over facts.”
It’s Satan’s best scam ever–the idea that you can be whatever you choose to be, even to the point of “choosing your gender.”
I confess I have no idea whatsoever why anybody would want “transgender”; and I’m afraid it could lead to social turmoil from which we might not recover.
Bad ideas can kill you. No matter how passionately you want them to be true.
Exhibit A: R.F. Scott’s trek to the South Pole. It’s not a parable. It really happened, and a lot of people who really, truly should have known better… died.
Will we ever learn?
The Scott expedition is a great example of the dangers which come from pressing on, regardless. It’s obvious that good planning and sound operational decision making were not employed. It was a classic example of poor decisions being reinforced by more poor decisions. Polar exploration, even now, is nothing to trifle with, but over 100 years ago, it was exceptionally perilous. No calling for a rescue chopper from your sat-phone in 1912.
This is the second time today that this subject has come up, and the third time in the last 18 hours. And this was brought up to me by others; I didn’t bring up the subject. People have strong opinions about this matter, and I’ve yet to meet anyone who supports such procedures being used on children.
Do you suppose that there will come a group of children who will resent what has been done to them, when they were too young to make an informed decision, on their own?
Personally, I am very hesitant to undertake any action which is irreversible. Even having my wisdom teeth pulled involved deliberation. Yes, it checks all sorts of boxes that the Left find important, but I suspect that there will be social backlash from some of the younger persons who made irreversible decisions, while still children, and had adult, authority figures abetting these choices.
I don’t think it’s saying too much to say that this could finish our civilization.
Literally the first commandment in scripture is to multiply and fill the earth. I don’t have the mind of God, but he obviously has a good reason for this. His dedication to this cause was restated after the flood and then enforced by the Babel event.
Human reproduction is a unique gift, for we are made in God’s Image, and can pass our lives along to offspring. There are many creatures in the spirit realm, but to the best of my knowledge, there is no way for spirit creatures to pass their lives along to another generation. So we are in a unique situation, created in God’s Image, able to reproduce, and given dominion over the animal realm. I treasure this, and even more, I look forward to how all of this will work out when all creation is restored to the way God wanted it to be. Undoubtedly, we will see wonderful things.
They’ve got to be better things than we’re seeing now.
1 Cor 2:9 But, as it is written, “What no eye has seen, nor ear heard, nor the heart of man imagined, what God has prepared for those who love him”
We can’t know exactly what, but I am certain that there is much more to God’s plan than the frustrations we face in this fallen world. As the verse says, the heart of man has not imagined what is in store. We’ve imagined Star Trek, Beethoven has imagined the Moonlight Sonata, we’ve imagined all sorts of art and poetry, but even these don’t reach to encompass what is in store.
