King Alfred’s War Song–it’s been a while since I posted this. Today seems a good day for us.
“For the Lord is our defense: Jesu defend us!” If you know a better prayer than that, I’d like to hear it.
Sung here at the Antioch Baptist Church.

A great aspect of this Blog are the hymns we get to hear we will hear nowhere else. I noticed this group of singers have unusual choir robes. 🙂 🙂
I’m always looking for more hymns to post.
How about these two, “Day by Day” and “Immortal, Invisible, God Only Wise.”
“Day by Day (and with Each Passing Moment)” was written in 1865 by Lina Sandell several years after she had witnessed the tragic drowning death of her father. It is a hymn of assurance used in American congregational singing.
“Immortal, Invisible, God Only Wise” was written in 1867 by the Free Church of Scotland minister, Walter Chalmers Smith.
Coming up this morning–thanks for asking.
