I had a bad night, this morning’s grey and dreary; but I have to say it was a lift for my soul, hearing this hymn: a long-time Sunday school favorite, All Hail the Power of Jesus Name. Sung here by Blue Mountain Mennonite Youth.

My mother used to sing this hymn as she went about her housework. Hearing it always brings that memory vividly to life for me.
My favorite memory of this hymn is from a gorgeous summer Sunday in the morning, at the Y Camp’s outdoor chapel, overlooking a glorious patchwork of farmed fields and rolling woodlands–and a quartet of camp counselors singing this in perfect harmony: All Hail the Power of Jesus’ Name.
