Who knew they had Texas Democrats in the Middle Ages?
It’s a political showdown in Texas, between Democrats and the governor; and two Dems have backed out (https://www.thegatewaypundit.com/2025/08/two-panicked-texas-democrats-return-capitol-after-gov/).
Gov. Greg Abbot threatened to arrest Democrats who dodged a quorum by fleeing to Illinois. So far Republicans have 96 votes out of 100 they need to make a quorum. Meanwhile, the legislature voted, 85-6, to issue arrest warrants for all the ninnies still hiding out in Illinois.
We’ll have to keep an eye on this. If “run away from the quorum” works this time, it will surely work again. And see, your party doesn’t have to be the majority party–far from it!–to get what they want out of this caper.
