‘Free Speech in Canada: Bye-Bye’ (My Newswithviews Column, May 2)

Elon Musk Slams Canadian PM Trudeau

How long does this wack-job (Left, of course) get to stay in office?

“Student Protests” are sucking up all the oxygen in the room this week; nevertheless, more attention ought to be paid to what’s going on in Canada.

Nothing less than the virtual abolition of free speech.

Free Speech in Canada: Bye-Bye

I mentioned it here a couple of days ago. The Canadian Parliament wants to punish you for things you said or did before they were against the law. H.G. Wells warned us about the dangers of time travel: but this was a danger that he never thought of.

I’m finding it increasingly hard to believe that there was ever any age that enthroned more sheer wickedness than this one.

Canada’s New ‘Pre-Crime’ Bill

Up in Canada they hate “hate” and mean to do something about it.

Do what? Bill C-63 contemplates subjecting to house arrest–with an “electric tag” to keep you honest!–individuals who might commit a “hate crime” (undefined!) sometime in the future… even if he hasn’t committed any crime as yet (https://www.theglobeandmail.com/politics/article-justice-minister-defends-house-arrest-power-for-people-feared-to/).

Punishment first, criminal act later!

It’s part of an “online harms bill” being pushed by Canada’s (LOL) Justice Minister, Arif Virani, who is also the Attorney General. But don’t worry, he says. They won’t go overboard with this.

Honk if you believe it. [Cue in chirping crickets.]

Let’s just lock up anyone who might commit a crime someday! Here in America, it would be blatantly unconstitutional. But who knows? Another Democrat presidency, and we might see a few executive orders along these lines. Libs are always jealous of what their counterparts get away with in countries that are not America.
