A Favorite Video

Had a miserable time with Radiation & Chemotherapy today. Anyone who tells you it’s  a walk in the park has obviously not finished the course.

Anyhow, this little video has been a comfort to me: rude cat provokes dog’s zoomies and just can’t figure it out.

Usually it’s the cats that mystify us.

Classic Video: Cat Watches Dog Zoomies

I give up. I had a couple of nice videos, but every one of them went belly-up when I tried to post: “Video Not Available… Sucker!” Gettin’ that a lot lately.

And so, as I run out of time, we return with this classic favorite–cat, dog, stairs, and zoomies.

Dog Up a Tree

This is impossible! There’s just no way a German shepherd could have climbed a tree so high and so far–even if he was chasing a cat. You can see the cat in the still photo: nowhere left to go.

Impossible or not, the fire department had to come to the rescue. Don’t worry–nobody got hurt.

Is This Dog Ready to Kitten-Sit?

Great big German shepherd, little tiny kitten–will they be good together? Looks like it!

I was terrified of these big dogs when I was a little boy. I was sure they ate people–the result of a “Little Red Riding Hood” story book rather more lavishly illustrated than it had to be.

Hide & Shriek

Dogs love playing hide and seek. When I was a boy I used to play it with our dog, Rags. He was crazy about it.

Some cats will play it, but they’d rather turn it into the ever-popular Ambush Game. If the victim trips and falls, the cat wins.

Another Glimpse of the Peaceable Kingdom

All right, it’s not exactly an action movie. I’m too tired for that. But gee, it’s a nice video! I find it soothing. If a pregnant cat and a German shepherd can get their act together, maybe there’s hope for humans, too.

Krazy Kritters

Cat tussles with chipmunk. Predator and prey? Well, you’d think so–only then you see the chipmunk coming back for more. Ditto the squirrel and the dog. Okay, the kitten and the baby chick produce no drama, that’s just sweet. But the rest of this is… unexpected.

Little Dog, Little Cat, Big Chuckle

The little white dog wants to play. Apparently the cat does not. How do you get the cat cranked up to play. (Hint: You don’t. Cats don’t do what they don’t want to do.)

No silly animals were hurt in the making of this video. (The cat was afraid of looking silly, but the dog simply didn’t care.)

Sanity Break: One Hyper Dog

This is one of my all-time favorite videos, and I kind of need it now: the nooze is getting to me.

Watch the cat tap the dog, and then watch the dog go positively hyper. The cat doesn’t know what to make of it. Who says a dog can’t confuse a cat?

Cats & Dogs & Television

How into TV are your pets? The dogs in this video take it very seriously.

Of all the cats I’ve had, only Buster took an interest in television. He always tried to catch the little elephants on Nature. And he sat in my lap and watched all of The Creature from the Black Lagoon. I could tell he really liked it.
