‘Can They Tell You When to Speak and What to Say?’ (2019)

Has everyone in government–especially judges–entirely forgotten the term “representative government?” Enshrined in the law of the land, the U.S. Constitution, is the principle that we are not ruled as subjects, but that we govern ourselves by means of our elected representatives.

Try explaining that to our betters!

Can They Tell You When to Speak and What to Say?

Who do these people think they are? “Yes, we can force you to affirm and celebrate and aid and abet and endorse gay marriage!” Since when?

But look around. What used to be “the Free World” is melting into tyranny faster by the day. It’s all in the cause of “liberation.” Oh, boy, the irony!

Cal State Loses Censorship Lawsuit

They don’t have any trouble getting university funding.

Can a looniversity dole out funds from student fees, paid by all students, to “gay” student groups while withholding funds from a pro-life student group?

No way, said the judge. And so, after a three-year legal battle, Cal State San Marcos had to pay a $240,000 settlement to Students For Life (https://www.washingtonexaminer.com/opinion/latest-blow-against-campus-censorship-offers-huge-win-for-pro-life-movement).

Cal State refused a request by the pro-life students for $500 to pay a speaker’s travel expenses–while at the same time forking over some $300,000 to assorted “gay” student groups. Because all students have to pay the fees which are the source of these funds, the judge ruled that the looniversity had discriminated against the pro-life students while favoring the Far Left student groups–which was tantamount, said the judge, to “compelled speech.”

Which is to say, they can’t force conservatives to pay for left-wing speakers and left-wing events while withholding the same funds from conservative speakers. All student groups ought to get their share, regardless of their politics–because the fees are paid by all.

Gee. All it took for that to happen was a thumping great lawsuit, three years of legal wrangling, and a judge’s ruling.  Is that what conservative students have to do, every time they want a speaker?

Let’s not kid ourselves. The universities’ primary concern is to promote Far Left ideology at the expense of everybody else, and to turn out a steady stream of brainwashed young leftids. Fundamentally transforming America, don’t you know–into the People’s Republic of Northern Venezuela.

It’s long past time to cut them off from public money.
