‘Trust and Obey’ (Fountainview Academy)

An old Sunday school favorite, Trust and Obey, has been knocking at my door since yesterday afternoon, so I guess I’d better post it. Performed by the kids at Fountainview Academy. Gorgeous fall scenery by God the Father: here, at Hat Creek Ranch, British Columbia.

‘Sound the Battle Cry’

Here’s one of those hymns that makes lukewarm Christians cringe–but the metaphor of Christians as soldiers goes all the way back to Paul (“Epaphroditus, my brother, and companion in labour, and fellowsoldier”, Philippians 2:25). So there. Sung by the kids of Fountainview Academy as they visit Prague in their European tour.

‘Wonderful Words of Life’ (Fountainview Academy)

Actually, I’m at the eye doctor’s as you’re reading this, but here, at the moment, it’s Friday morning. Got that?

Wonderful Words of Life, a Sunday school favorite, performed by the kids at Fountainview Academy… wonderful.

‘Be Born in Me’

I had never heard this one before–Be Born in Me, performed by the kids at Fountainview Academy.

Jesus Christ is the answer.

‘Jesus Saves’ (Fountainview Academy)

I loved this hymn for years, without knowing any of its lyrics, or its name. Church bells played it now and then; that’s how I heard it. Used to be you could hear all the church bells in this town. Now you can’t: too much traffic, too many people with leaf-blowers.

So here it is: Jesus Saves, performed by the kids of Fountainview Academy during their visit to Rome.

And we are open for readers’ hymn requests, open all day…

Bonus Hymn, ‘Crown Him with Many Crowns’

I wanted to make sure to post something by Fountainview Academy. Crown Him with Many Crowns, by band and chorus–somewhere outdoors in beautiful British Columbia. God really does provide lovely settings; nor does He charge for their use.

‘Holy Spirit, Faithful Guide’

If I don’t make a mess of this, you’ll be viewing it today as Patty and I sit in the doctor’s office, waiting for assorted tests.

Holy Spirit, Faithful Guide, sung by the kids at Fountainview Academy–and please pray for us today.

P.S.–Of course I botched the job, so tomorrow’s hymn now appears today and I’ll have to post today’s hymn for tomorrow and then I think I’ll go soak my head.

‘My Faith Has Found a Resting Place’

This is the first time I’ve ever heard this hymn, My Faith Has Found a Resting Place. Performed by the students of Fountainview Academy on their European tour, at Bethlemen Chapel in Prague, Czech Republic.

Bonus Hymn, ‘Jesus Saves’

I love this hymn, and right around here, right about now, there’s a whole lot of saving needed. Feels like the rowboat’s filling up with water. Save us, O Lord.

This is by the kids from Fountainview Academy, visiting Prague on their European tour.

‘Holy, Holy, Holy’ (Fountainview Academy)

This is the hymn that was with me when I woke this morning, so this is the hymn I post today: and I wanted it done by the kids at Fountainview Academy, and was happy to find that available: Holy, Holy, Holy.

And don’t let the setting fool you, they’re still in Canada: Minter Gardens. Yes, it looks like a fantasy landscape. But don’t worry, it’s real.
