Requested by Erlene: Tennessee Ernie Ford sings His Eye Is On the Sparrow. How he shifts so effortlessly from ordinary conversational speech to high-powered hymn-singing–well, really, it’s something to marvel at.

It’s been ages and ages since I’ve heard this hymn. Here it is, as song by Tennessee Ernie Ford: His Eye Is on the Sparrow. I don’t think I could’ve been more than 12 years old when I heard this last.
Here’s the next hymn requested by Phoebe: His Eye Is on the Sparrow, sung here by the Mennonite Hour Singers. I love the background settings–God’s handiwork.
Now I have to try to catch up on lost time, go out for supplies, and cope with freezing rain. With any luck at all, it’ll turn into an ice storm.
Well, I’m off to a late start today. Cramps up and down my legs.
No hymn contest entries yet, so let me provide a hymn: His Eye Is on the Sparrow, sung by the Mennonite Hour Singers. I think this time the Lord has really outdone Himself in creating gorgeous background sets. Praise Him for the beauty of His creation!

I don’t think Lisa Beth will mind if I link to this post on her blog, theburninglamp.com . It’s been a while since I’ve seen her blog; I’m glad I visited it today.
Yes, “His Eye is on the Sparrow” But…
Lisa’s heart went out to this little bird with a badly broken wing, and she did everything possible to save him if she could. But the injuries were too severe.
We wonder–oh, yes, we wonder: “Why untimely death of His beloved?” Why does God permit the loss of our loved ones? Nothing hurts us worse than that.
Read Lisa Beth’s meditation, as she comes to grips with that question. Yes, God’s eye is on the sparrow–and on each of us, too. Our tribulations in this fallen world are known and felt by Him.
And beyond those tribulations, He has eternal life reserved for us.

Requested by Erlene, His Eye is on the Sparrow. Sung by Selah.
I’ve heard little snatches of this hymn since I was a little boy, and only today have I heard the whole thing and learned what it’s called.
We have a hymn request from Susan–His Eye Is on the Sparrow, by Her Heart Sings/Sounds Like Reign. I somehow missed it in the email during the day.
Anyway, we do take hymn requests, the hymn shop’s open to everyone; so if you have a hymn you’d like to share, just leave a comment anywhere.
I never heard this hymn before, His Eye is on the Sparrow. It comforts me to know God cares for sparrows; surely He cares for us. Sung by the Mennonite Hour Singers. Background sets by God the Father, who made the heavens and the earth.
