I Think I Ought to Post This: ‘To Be a Pilgrim’

My wife thought she heard me listening to this hymn, this morning. I wasn’t: and yet my stats board showed four hits for it. To Be a Pilgrim, by John Bunyan, sung by Maddy Prior and the Carnival Band–yeah, okay, heed the promptings of the Spirit.

I’ve also discovered a version by Joshua and Jeremy. If I get some calls for it, I’ll post that one, too.

John Bunyan’s Hymn

We are still flailing away at computer … “issues.” Now we’ve got the laptop up and running, but the printer has vanished into the twilight zone.

Anyway, here’s a hymn for the day–John Bunyan’s hymn, He Who Would Valiant Be, sung by Maddy Prior and the Carnival Band.

‘To Be a Pilgrim’

No comments, no likes, no hymn requests–looks like I’m on my own again.

I found myself energetically whistling this hymn last night , so here it it, one of my favorites–To Be a Pilgrim, by John Bunyan, sung the old-fashioned way by Maddy Prior and the Carnival Band.

One More Hymn: ‘To Be a Pilgrim’

Before we dumpster-dive into the day’s nooze, one more hymn–John Bunyan’s hymn, To Be a Pilgrim, performed by Maddy Prior and the Carnival Band. This hymn has been on my mind all morning, so I reckon I’d better post it… and see what happens.

John Bunyan’s Hymn

No hymn requests this morning, so I’ll go back to my favorites and pluck out this one–To Be a Pilgrim, sung by Maddy Prior and the Carnival Band. The verses, published first in 1684, are generally attributed to John Bunyan, writer of The Pilgrim’s Progress.

John Bunyan’s Hymn (‘To Be a Pilgrim’)

I sort of accidentally posted this hymn this morning–To Be a Pilgrim, by John Bunyan, performed by Maddy Prior and the Carnival Band. I decided it wasn’t the kind of mistake I needed to correct. Maybe the Lord picked a hymn for us today.

‘To Be a Pilgrim’

I don’t know if anyone will see this, I don’t know if anyone will be able to comment on it, I don’t know if this blog will still exist by suppertime today–

But here’s Maddy Prior and the Carnival Band with John Bunyan’s hymn, To Be a Pilgrim.

‘To Be a Pilgrim’

Let’s try this one–John Bunyan’s hymn, To Be a Pilgrim, sung by Maddy Prior and the Carnival Band. It was written to give us courage. May it minister to us all

The raptors are out to get us, but we have to keep going.

Again, thank all of you for our prayers. And please add a prayer for reader “Wyldkat,” whose aged cat is struggling.

‘To Be a Pilgrim’

When you’re up against the wall, and there’s no one to turn to but God–sing louder. Who else can give us mercy? Who else will hear us?

To Be a Pilgrim, by John Bunyan, sung by Maddy Prior and the Carnival Band–please, Father, hear us and help! In Jesus’ name, Amen.

One More Time, ‘To Be a Pilgrim’

The sun came out and I had a good morning’s work on my book, which put me in high spirits. Even the nooze couldn’t totally succeed in damping them; but it did give me a desire to hear John Bunyan’s hymn again.

Sung by Maddy Prior, with the Carnival Band, and by the author of “Pilgrim’s Progress”–To Be a Pilgrim. Sing it again, Maddy!
