By Request, ‘Joseph Dearest, Joseph Mine’

Requested by Phoebe: Joseph Dearest, Joseph Mine by Maddy Prior and the Carnival Band.

I hope these Christmas carols stir you as they stir me. I don’t care if my eyes tear up while I’m listening. This is for the birth of Jesus Christ! Redemption! Forgiveness of sins! Eternal life! That’s worth a few tears of joy, don’t you think?

By Request, ‘Joseph Dearest, Joseph Mine’

Requested by Phoebe, a gentle, soothing carol–Joseph Dearest, Joseph Mine, sung by the Dale Warland Singers.

I can’t help noticing that most of the entries in our carol contest are coming from the same few readers. This is one of those patterns that I’ve come to think of as a dynamic of history.

Some of you who haven’t entered yet–come aboard, and let’s have Christmas!

By Request, ‘Joseph Dearest, Joseph Mine’

Requested by Phoebe, Joseph Dearest, Joseph Mine (also known as You Came Among Us at Christmas Time), sung by the Westminster Choir, with the New Jersey Symphoney Orchestra–which is conducted sometimes (but not this time) by Patty’s eye doctor, Dr. Santamaria.
