‘Lead On, O King Eternal’

It’s a grey and dreary day outside, and here at this blog address it’s the blahs–we need a hymn to pep things up. And this is the first one I thought of: Lead On, O King Eternal, sung by One Voice Hymnal. It’s the kind of hymn you hear drifting out of a church on a quiet summer morning.

‘Lead On, O King Eternal’

Here’s the first hymn that popped into my head today, a good old 19th century classic–Lead On, O King Eternal. I wish I could tell you who was singing it, but I couldn’t find that information.

Well, the hymn shop’s open, everybody… Let’s not push and shove to get in.

‘Lead On, O King Eternal’

I’ve received no hymn requests today so far, so I’m on my own again. I’ll go with one that came into my mind last night–Lead On, O King Eternal. Here we have it sung by the Hastings College Choir.

(Where is everybody? Did I miss a day?)

‘Lead On, O King Eternal’

Again, I’m going with the first hymn I could think of today–and it’s a good one: Lead On, O King Eternal, sung by the Sanctuary Choir at the First United Methodist Church, Houston.

I’ve used up all the hymn requests I had stockpiled, so now’s a good time for more. All are welcome, and the hymn shop’s always open.

‘Lead On, O King Eternal’

A hymn to blow the cobwebs out: Lead On, O King Eternal, sung by the Hastings College Choir. If you’re a little slow off the mark this morning, turn up the volume.

Let us not forget that we have a king, Jesus Christ the Son of God, whose right it is to rule, and that all power and dominion shall be placed under Him. A lot of people don’t want to hear that! But we do.

Today’s Hymn, ‘Lead On, O King Eternal’

This is the Hastings College Choir, assisted by organ and trumpet, singing Lead On, O King Eternal.

Allow me to take a moment to pay tribute to my cyber-friend, Paul Zimmerman, of Texas, who, some few years ago, left his tabernacle to be with the Lord. A disabled military veteran, Paul emailed daily devotionals to many of his friends. I miss them–and I miss him! Paul was also an enthusiastic fan of my books. O Lord, please tell him that his friends have not forgotten him.

Yes! ‘Lead On, O King Eternal’

Lead on, O King Eternal, performed by the Good Shepherd Band–I’m not much for rock, but give this one a chance. Too many hymns are sung like dirges. But this hymn was written as a call to battle and a celebration of victory–and that’s how these guys play and sing it! It has pumped me up pretty good, and I hope it does the same for you.

The wicked have us surrounded, they outnumber us at fearful odds, they’re already bragging about it–

The poor fools!

Hymn, ‘Lead On, O King Eternal’

So much to do today! But first a hymn–Lead On, O King Eternal, performed by the Hastings College Choir. This one was in my head as I vacuumed the living room this morning.
