Is Missing Tennis Star Lost or Found?

Laying it on a bit thick, do you think?

On Nov. 2 Chinese tennis star Peng Shuai posted on social media an assertion that she had been sexually assaulted by a member of the Chinese Communist government.

Then she went missing.

This weekend we are told she has reappeared… sort of. She is supposed to have made a video call to the International Olympic Committee to tell them she’s safe and well, and the Chicoms are saying she will make a public appearance “soon” (https://news.sky.com/story/peng-shuai-missing-chinese-tennis-player-will-make-public-appearance-soon-says-state-media-12473088). Meanwhile, they’ve posted pictures of her “quietly at home” with toys and a cat.

A great deal of skepticism surrounds this whole business. In China they don’t let you criticize the government. They make you disappear. In fact, I think that’s what American leftids, aka Democrats, like about it. Wait’ll parents who criticize school boards start disappearing. We’ll have our own Chateau D’If. But I digress.

When Peng Shuai makes her public appearance, will it be real or will it be Memorex?

Who can say?

I don’t think I want to know what he’s clapping for.

Communism! An inexhaustible fountain of fun.

North Korea’s communist dictator, Kim Jong Un, got the train of chuckles rolling recently when he prescribed 15 years in a labor camp as the penalty for listening to “K-Pop”–music, videos, TV and movies produced in South Korea (https://variety.com/2021/music/news/kim-jong-un-k-pop-vicious-cancer-1234994620/). Soon this’ll be the only country in the world where you can plea-bargain down to a death sentence.

Dreamboy called K-Pop “a vicious cancer” and inveighed against the hair and clothing styles popular among K-Pop fans.

Gee. I don’t have much use for rock ‘n’ roll, but I wouldn’t kill people over it.

Oddly enough, K-Pop fans seem to be pretty far to the left themselves–more fool them. And they’re said to be highly media-savvy. I think that’s a euphemism for not knowing a blessed thing besides cyber-gizmos.

The real mystery is why libs throughout the Western world think communism’s cool and would like to have it ruling their own countries. What would ever make them think that?

It’s not so bad… if you’re a lizard.

You think you’ve got a bad job? Hah. You’ve got to go to Red China to find out what a bad job really is.

A Chinese home renovation company “punishes” workers–remember, this is an official Workers’ Paradise–for unsatisfactory performance by making them drink urine and eat cockroaches… or get whipped with a belt… or have your head shaved… or be made to drink toilet water… or get docked a whole month’s wages (https://www.reuters.com/article/us-china-society-punishment-idUSKCN1ND0MM). These punishments are executed in front of the other employees. Keeps ’em on their toes, I guess.

Oddly enough, very few people quit after these things are done to them. Maybe in China jobs are that hard to come by. Or maybe all the other jobs are worse. The Reuters news story doesn’t tell us. They just seem to “accept their fate.”

This is the Red China whose culture and form of government American liberals wish to emulate. I can just see Joe Biden grinning as he watches some poor peon try to scarf down a handful of roaches. Tom Friedman’s out front selling tickets.
