‘Softly and Tenderly’

It’s only 10:30 and I’m already tuckered out. But let’s keep going, if we can.

Softly and Tenderly, sung by the Altar of Praise Chorale, background sets by God the Father: and maybe a nice long rest this afternoon.

By Request, ‘Softly and Tenderly’

(We have four hymn requests so far today, so I’ll hold over one or more of them for tomorrow morning.)

Requested by SlimJim–Softly and Tenderly, sung by the Altar of Praise Chorale, with background sets by God the Father.

Thanks to all readers who ask for hymns! God knows we need them.

‘Softly and Tenderly’

This is No. 50 from the list of Your Favorite Hymns, so it’s time to add another 50. What we usually get is just a few readers suggesting lots of hymns. How about a lot of readers suggesting lots of hymns? We won’t run out of them!

But for today–Softly and Tenderly, sung by the Altar of Praise Chorale.

By Request, ‘Softly and Tenderly’

Here’s a hymn request from Laura–an antidote to the steady drip-drip-drip of bad news–Softly and Tenderly, by Sounds Like Reign. And using modern technology to glorify God: maybe there’s hope for that stuff, after all.

‘Softly and Tenderly’

Here are just two kids from Fountainview Academy, at a sand-pit somewhere in British Columbia, with a hymn I hadn’t heard before–Softly and Tenderly. Very sweet, don’t you think?

‘Softly and Tenderly’

I heard this hymn for the first time yesterday, in a movie–Softly and Tenderly (Jesus Is Calling), sung here by the Altar of Praise Chorale. The movie was O. Henry’s Full House.

This was posted on Youtube as a prayer for Lois. We join in saying “Amen.”

‘Softly and Tenderly’

This hymn, Softly and Tenderly, sung by the Altar of Praise Chorale, reminds me of Jesus’ words, after Isaiah, in Luke 4:18.

The spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the broken-hearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised, to preach the acceptable year of the Lord.

And after he closed the book,  Jesus said, This day is this scripture fulfilled in your ears.
