Oh, Yeah! ‘Our God is an Awesome God’

Among the wisest things I’ve ever heard in my life was a very crisp one-liner delivered by a woman on a Christian panel talk show, many years ago on our local Christian radio station.

Asked “What do you do?” when days are dark, your faith is tested constantly and you can just feel it being worn away, when you just don’t seem to know much anymore, what do you do–

“Sing louder,” she said. I’ve never forgotten it.

Our God is an Awesome God is one of those things you may wish to sing louder. It’s been in my head all morning, and I’m glad.

  1. Thank you, Lee. This one is frequently rolling around in my mind – at least a few times every day, I find myself singing this (under my breath or I’d scare the wildlife lol) And the young people standing and singing to our God with uplifted voices and hands is incredible!

  2. LOL! Just to let you know, I’ve finished ‘The Palace’ and have started on ‘The Glass Bridge’. They just climbed the Thunder King’s road and what Uduqu said to Obst has me laughing – because I know just how he feels! He said he felt as if every year of his life was wrapped around his ankles! How hilariously true!

    1. Thank you for such wonderful stories – you do have a gift for writing. I’m waiting with Jack and Enith to find out the secret of the glass bridge too 🙂

  3. I love this song, too. Wonderful and encouraging. Another song by Carroll Roberson that I love and relate to is: The man I used to be. I can substitute woman, and it gives me a very thankful heart to know all that the merciful Lord has done for me.
