Usually I like my hymns simpler than this; but today I ask for something to blow a fierce, fresh wind through my mind: a hymn with a full orchestra and a couple hundred people singing it for all they’re worth. This is from St. David’s Hall in Cardiff, Wales.
Went to see my aunt, which was upsetting, and cranked out a News With Views column: I need to hear my King praised. I need to know He will come at the appointed time and cleanse the earth so God the Father can regenerate it.
Come, Lord Jesus–come!
He will hear from Heaven. And while we cry ‘Come, Lord Jesus’ He reminds us, as prophecy is being fulfilled all around us, that this is why He is longsuffering:
2 Peter 3:9 The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.
I’m sorry for your pain, Lee. It’s difficult when someone we love begins to slip away from us. My father went through the pain of being the baby of 6 (and the favorite) and his mom not recognizing him in her last years..
You and your family remain in my prayers.
I love this. HE is SO DESERVING. He receives far less praise from His people than He should. The Scripture tells us “He dwells within the praises of His people” and this is as good as it gets while we are on earth…
Give Him praise and adoration, all ye His people. I can’t wait to see HIM face to face.
