Portland’s After School Satan Club

Are you ready for this? Please say you’re not.

Portland, Oregon–a public elementary school, for children aged 5 to 10 years old, has okayed an “After School Satan Club” (ASSC) for the kiddies ( http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2016/09/28/school-grants-satanic-temple-permission-to-run-after-school-club/ ).

School officials duck responsibility for this by saying a child can’t participate in any after-school club without parental permission–and also they gotta have a Satan club because they already have a Bible club and it just wouldn’t be right not to give the kids the opportunity to choose the Devil over Jesus Christ.

This educational enterprise is sponsored by the Satanic Temple, which claims that there is “a massive wave of interest… across the nation” and that “parents are concerned about encroachment”–encroachment!–by Christians into the public schools.

The Satan Club, they say, will focus on “science and rational thought.”

Scientists ought to sue for defamation. Unless the link between science and Satanism is real. But I’m not saying it; the satanists are.

They’ve already got a workbook, too: The Satanic Children’s Big Book of Activities. I don’t think I want to know what those activities are.

I’ve said it before, I’ll say it again: Christians who want to raise up Christian children don’t send their kids to public school.

  1. The underlying issue of God’s sovereignty vs. Satan’s desire to be worshipped is becoming more and more apparent daily. This is perhaps the most egregious example because it actually uses the name Satan. But whether it’s ASSC or governments finding themselves allied with terror groups, the battle of God’s goodness vs. the evil of Satan’s dominion over so much of humanities affairs is raging with ferocity that defies imagination. Amen. Come lord Jesus.

  2. The Satanic Temple are a bunch of atheists masquerading as Satanists, they don’t even believe in the supernatural. They call themselves that just to be provocative because they know it gets media attention. They claim “scientific rationality” provides the best measure of reality, but it’s really just scientism (there’s a difference). Their real goal is to attack religion in general and Christianity in particular. They hide behind the First Amendment, but as Supreme Court Justice Joseph Story pointed out, the First Amendment is not about accommodating all religions, but specially Christianity:

“The real object of the amendment was, not to countenance (permit), much less to advance Mahometanism (Islam), or Judaism, or infidelity (unbelief), by prostrating (lowering) Christianity; but to exclude all rivalry among Christian sects, and to prevent any national ecclesiastical establishment, which should give to an hierarchy (position) the exclusive patronage (support) of the national government.”

    1. They don’t listen to Justice Story anymore.
Secular humanism–code for atheism, but it really boils down to looking in a mirror when you want to pray–is the de facto religion of the Western world’s ruling class.
