“The Spirit of ’76”–we need it now.
Well, here we go again.
At a condo building in Port Charlotte, Florida, a sign has been posted: “ANY AND ALL CHRISTIAN MUSIC IS BANNED” (https://townhall.com/columnists/toddstarnes/2018/03/08/christian-music-n2458899), reports Todd Starnes at townhall.com.
No Bible study, no group prayers, no hymn-singing, no crosses on doors–it’s all been banned, thanks to a “complaint” made to the government’s “Fair Housing” agency. I am at a loss to understand how this is “fair.”
Do we still have a First Amendment? If so, where is it?
There is, of course, a lawsuit filed against this high-handed decree. We can pray it succeeds. But why should we need a judge to tell us we can listen to Christian music, and come together to share it, if we want to? And what if the judge says no?
Another thing I can’t understand is why a country in which the vast majority of people are Christians seems to be governed solely in the interests of a tiny, rabidly Christian-hating minority–and why we put up with it. We wouldn’t have put up with it in 1776. Why do we put up with it now?
It’s a war against the Creator Himself.
Society has apparently been sufficiently indoctrinated and otherwise brainwashed to allow this outrageous behavior, now considering it as normal and even admirable in some circles.
I wouldn’t want to be them when it’s time to stand before The Throne to give an account. And for those who think that’s a fairytale, stay tuned!
Unfortunately, First Amendment rights apply only to legislation: “Congress shall make no law….” However, there are enough anti-discrimination laws that apply to organizations and accommodations so that people can still have recourse to the courts — assuming the courts still operated on a system of law. But just try banning public Muslim prayer in a condo complex and see what happens.
America is dissolving before our very eyes.
I don’t think this means condo associations have the authority to make rules and regulations that contradict the Bill of Rights. They couldn’t, for instance, decide that slavery would be allowed in their building, or that all residents must convert to Zoroastrianism.
All this stuff needs to be slapped down, hard.
AG Jeff Sessions was on “Tucker” last night (3/9) and said he wanted to change the federal court system where one judge can issue an injunction while all the other judge’s are against it. A worthy goal but it will take Christian statesmen elected to Congress to bring it about. Imagine a US Congress whose majority were committed Christians – I can!
