Taking God’s name in vain is a serious sin, but libs don’t know that, so they do it all the time.
To me it scarcely seems possible that anyone could honestly believe Bruce Gender is a woman, or that God smiles on abortion–not unless they were psychotic, and there just can’t be that many psychotics.
But then there’s a lot about this era of history that might strike you as psychotic.
This is REALLY “taking God’s Name in vain.” Obscenities and profanities, however worded are not nearly as profoundly wrong as suggesting that God embraces evil. That is what Christ meant when He said that a sin against the Holy Spirit would not be forgiven. Those who sinned against Him would be forgiven but those who said that He drove out demons by the power of the devil sinned against the Holy Spirit. This is a sin against the Holy Spirit and God help those who in their ignorance and wickedness condemn themselves.
You’re absolutely right–a sin against the Holy Spirit.
Most are just plain EVIL! They don’t have to be sick to be evil. And yes, I know some people will say ‘But it’s sick to be evil.” Not necessarily.
There are good people who are sick and there are sick people who are good. Eventually God leaves those who are evil to their own reprobate mind.
Good piece
The New York State Senate approved a law to make it legal for non-physicians to perform abortions all the way up to nine months, and if the baby survives makes it legal to kill it. Its passage was given a standing ovation by the senators, and the Governor had the world trade building lit up in pink to celebrate it. This is a manifestation of the truth of the proverb that says, “Those who hate God love death.”
It also tells you everything you need to know about Democrats.
In Deuteronomy, God explained a lot about prophets. This included a sure fire way to spot a false prophet, which is shown in the last verse of the scriptures quoted below. The bottom line is, claiming to speak for God is serious, and if you do so falsely, the consequences are severe.
As a rule, I don’t run around telling people what I think God said; the most I will do is refer to scripture. It’s up to the other party how they choose to interpret what is written. That having been said, I’d be hard pressed to find a scripture which could be used to justify abortion. I don’t want to force my views on anyone, but I’m not about to have the views of others forced upon me, either. The dialogue has shifted from being about “choice” to being a matter of advocacy. Putting words in God’s mouth to promote one’s cause strikes me as poor judgment.
Deuteronomy 18:18 I will raise up a prophet from among their countrymen like you, and I will put My words in his mouth, and he shall speak to them all that I command him. 19 It shall come about that whoever will not listen to My words which he shall speak in My name, I Myself will require it of him. 20 But the prophet who speaks a word presumptuously in My name which I have not commanded him to speak, or which he speaks in the name of other gods, that prophet shall die.’ 21 You may say in your heart, ‘How will we know the word which the Lord has not spoken?’ 22 When a prophet speaks in the name of the Lord, if the thing does not come about or come true, that is the thing which the Lord has not spoken. The prophet has spoken it presumptuously; you shall not be afraid of him.
False prophecy is a growth industry, these days. All these “clergy for choice” groups make me shudder. Once upon a time in the ancient world, it would have been feared that to give shelter to such false prophets would be to incur a spiritual pollution and the anger of the gods.
Even pagans knew better than to do the things we do today.
The levels of hubris are unprecedented. As I mentioned yesterday, Herod Agrippa found out what the facts really were; and not in a pleasant manner.
