My Newswithviews Column, Aug. 15 (‘Where’s the “Public” in “Public Education”?’)

See the source image

Somehow virtually all our education choices got taken away from us, leaving us with no role in education but to pay–and pay, and pay–for it.

Where’s the ‘Public’ in ‘Public Education’?

But that’s what the “pro-choice” mob does. They take away our choices.

The ones that own the schools have decided that our children need to be raised as sexual anarchists, and are busily doing just that in public schools from sea to shining sea. And we let them do it.

Again, the only vote we get is with our feet. Normal people’s children have to be rescued, physically removed, from public education. Homeschool or Christian school: either one is vastly better than the parody of learning that goes on in public schools.

  1. You’ve hot upon the key. I’ll use another situation to illustrate.

A lot of people complain about the news media, but they keep watching CNN, MSNBC and buying The NY Times. Quit patronizing these outlets and they wither quickly, very quickly in fact. Vote with your feet.

The last time I bought a newspaper, and no, I’m not kidding, it was as a source of inexpensive packing paper. The time before that was in 2001, when I was shopping for a new pickup. I don’t remember the time before that but I can state without fear of equivocation that I bought two newspapers in August of 2001 and only one since then. I NEVER watch TV news, and haven’t for decades.

The same is true for public schools. If people quit patronizing them, they will wither. Already, a University Degree has become so diluted as to be valueless in many cases. A high school diploma is all but a joke these days. They are turning out functional illiterates right and left. To call it a broken system glorifies it. It’s only organizational attribute is promotion of Leftist values.

    1. It’s very frustrating, trying to deliver this message who insist that public schooling is “free”–because they don’t realize they’re paying for it with their taxes–and that whatever mischief is being done is “not in *our* schools.”
