‘Crossword Puzzles Go Toxic’ (2012)

So this is “adult,” is it? Really?

Things haven’t gotten better, culturally, since I wrote this in 2012.

The thing I don’t see at all is, what are we supposed to be getting out of all this sexual anarchy and moral meltdown–when even the crossword puzzles aren’t safe from corruption? What’s this supposed to do for us?

And we hadn’t even thought of any “Drag Queen Story Hour” yet.

  1. This is childish, it is disgusting, does absolutely no good for anybody.
Movies have gotten so low-life, I hardly watch a single movie any more.
To deliberately expose yourself to this trash is inexcusable.

  2. I had no idea about this, either. Such a shame that we can’t even entertain ourselves with something like a puzzle.

  3. What bothers me is the misuse of any form of publishing to push the agenda. I won’t name names, but there was a Jazz musician who I greatly admired that was so offended by George W Bush that he had to work the subject into his interviews and refused to even utter Bush’s name as an act of protest. His stock hit zero, on my exchange, not because of his opinions, which are his right, but because he used interviews as a way to spread his views.

I had already suspected that he was far left of center, but my interest was based upon his music, not his views. When he started blathering on with his political views he lost my respect: immediately.

Much like Erlene, I don’t watch new movies all that often. I have DVDs and Blu-Rays but the vast majority of these are from 20 to 70 years ago. TV? Never! Even radio can get pretty salty. I pay Sirius XM a modest fee for satellite radio and no DJs.

  4. Language is one of many tools being used by Deep State despots to overthrow our representative democracy.

  5. The Bible tells us to think on things above, like love, beauty, what is excellent, and what is good – to set our hearts on things above where Christ is. Those who love to use profanity, especially the “f-bomb” and “motherf…er” are appealing to the powers below. It is easy to place people by the way they talk.
