G’day, everybody! Byron the Quokka here; and as you can see, all of us are just waiting for the chance to celebrate another birthday.
This is not just a blog; it’s a fellowship. We’d like to announce everybody’s birthdays. Would you believe it–nobody had a birthday in July.
Anyway, if you’d like birthday greetings here, just leave the date in a comment somewhere, anywhere, and I’ll copy it into my book.
Oh! And don’t forget the comment contest! We’re shooting for Comment No. 64,000, as in “The $64,000 Question.” We still have over a thousand comments to go–but come on, let’s have some fun with this, let’s enjoy some scintillating conversations here! Here, I’ll start the balling rolling with a couple of deep questions–
Why isn’t pick-up sticks an Olympic sport?
Why aren’t there any lost cities in Australia? [Careful! That’s a trick question!]
Whatever happened to Hires Root Beer?
C’mon, humans! Let’s get this blog rolling again!
I love how this blog is much more than a blog.
If I never mentioned my b-day it’s November 5th.
You’re already on the list.
These are some fun questions. I remember some of these things, but really do not have any answers. Guess that is what happens when you get old. In my family, there are six July birthdays, but not me.
“Why aren’t there any lost cities in Australia?”
Hmm… because we can’t see them because they’re all down under the ground???
They’re all down under. There’s a joke in there somewhere.
Not bad, not bad…
YES!!! 🤣
I’ve been practicing my old pickup sticks skills ever since it became a varsity sport at Quokka U. Maybe someday Byron and I will be medalists at the Olympics. 🙂
Unfortunately, I don’t have any genuine pickup sticks at home, but I practice by balancing spaghetti or linguine strands (uncooked, of course) on a small postal scale that I use for measuring out portions to cook for myself. Adding and subtracting the individual strands on the tiny platform without any of them falling off is indeed a challenge!

When is your birthday Byron? If lost cities are found they are no longer lost.
Bingo!
Ah! That’s the answer! Makes a whole lot of sense now! 😆
It’s all part of the cryptozoology paradox. 😉
Or in this case, cryptogeography. 🙂
A whole new science!
You might’ve just invented a brand new word!!
I don’t know about cryptogeography (although it shows great promise as a degree program at Quokka University), but I’ve got 5 blog views today from Cote d’Ivoire. I do wonder how that happened!
Cote d’Ivoire, if you can read this, talk to me…
Cote d’Ivoire??? I heard that country’s name before, but I forgot where it was, so I searched it. Wow!!! Something special has happened!! Congratulations!
I’m still down several thousand views from last July, thanks to Verizon.
I’m praying that the internet problem will get fixed soon!
LOL!! 🤣 Indeed! I thought I heard that phrase before!
By the way I saw you tried twice to reblog my posts; didn’t seem it went through but I appreciate your effort!
WordPress has to fix this.
I hope so too
