Happy Birthday, Erlene!

330 Quokkas ideas | quokka, happy animals, cute animals

Before we do anything else, let’s wish our friend Erlene a happy birthday! As you can see, the Quokka Birthday Committee is already making plans for a massive Clue game to celebrate the day. We also have this great statue of Erlene, but no one is allowed to take a picture of it.

Many happy returns, Erlene!   –Byron the Quokka and the Rest of Us

Happy Birthday, Whoever You Are

The Quokka. Possibly the happiest animal on earth : Eyebleach

G’day, everybody! Byron the Quokka here; and as you can see, all of us are just waiting for the chance to celebrate another birthday.

This is not just a blog; it’s a fellowship. We’d like to announce everybody’s birthdays. Would you believe it–nobody had a birthday in July.

Anyway, if you’d like birthday greetings here, just leave the date in a comment somewhere, anywhere, and I’ll copy it into my book.

Oh! And don’t forget the comment contest! We’re shooting for Comment No. 64,000, as in “The $64,000 Question.” We still have over a thousand comments to go–but come on, let’s have some fun with this, let’s enjoy some scintillating conversations here! Here, I’ll start the balling rolling with a couple of deep questions–

Why isn’t pick-up sticks an Olympic sport?

Why aren’t there any lost cities in Australia? [Careful! That’s a trick question!]

Whatever happened to Hires Root Beer?

C’mon, humans! Let’s get this blog rolling again!

G’day, earthlings! Byron the Quokka here. And now it’s official–this blog will do birthday greetings for as many readers as would like them.

And guess who’s in charge of it? Moi! I don’t much like being called a “bloke,” but I guess Lee did it for the sake of the alliteration. So I give the old bald guy a break. (Oops!)

Now, we can’t give you a birthday greeting unless you tell us when your birthday is. Then I can write it down and be ready when the time comes. So far, four of you have sent in your birthdays, and I have written them down. The paper’s in my family’s Clue game, so it won’t get lost.

You can leave a comment on any post, and I’ll find it.

And you’ll have the satisfaction of knowing that a lot of us quokkas will be toasting you on that special day.

Happy Birthday!

Today is Patty’s birthday, and I want to thank all of you who have prayed for us. The Lord has heard those prayers, and she’s a lot better off than she was a couple months ago.

I would kind of like to make birthday announcements a regular feature of this blog; but of course I can’t do that unless readers tell me when their birthdays are. We do have a fellowship here, and I think birthday announcements would be a nice thing we could do.

You don’t have to tell me how old you are.

The more I think about this, the more I’d like to do it. What do you think?

P.S.–I’m thinking Byron the Quokka could make the announcements. He needs something to do between contests.
