When I first was saved and went to Christian meetings, etc. the phrase that a oerson was broken was used a lot. It meant they had died to self and were humble people to be trusted – I guess like a horse is broken/tamed.
“Blessed are the meek” refers to us who have been broken to God’s hand–like horses.
