I suddenly wished to hear and post this hymn–an old, old Isaac Watts classic, published in 1724: Am I a Soldier of the Cross? This rendition is by Tennessee Ernie Ford.
Great evil and madness, once beyond our power to imagine, is afoot in our world today.
We must all be soldiers of the cross–any way we can.
I never heard this before. I like it! And yes, these are times of spiritual warfare.
Indeed, we do. I am doing all I can, which at age 89 is not great, but God knows our capabilities and He has His own way of showing each of us what He expects us to do.
Look at me, writing fantasy novels. Is that soldiering? But it’s what I can do.
Amen!
Love it
