‘Shall We Gather at the River?’

There is a river, the streams whereof shall make glad the city of God, the holy place of the tabernacles of the most high…   –Psalm 46:4

I feel a need for this particular hymn this morning–Shall We Gather At the River?, sung by Tennessee Ernie Ford. Gather with the saints at the river… Yes, I want to be there for that.

  1. Such a simple song but such strong sentiment. I like the Bible verses about Jesus baptized more than John, yet not Jesus but His disciples. I can imagine the smile of approval on Jesus’ face.

  2. How about, The Saviour is Waiting by Carroll Roberson for tomorrow or whenever you wish.
