I haven’t posted this for us in a while, have I? The Son of God Goes Forth to War, sung by Joe Stout–but the image of a conquering Church is not popular in these days of “go along to get along.”
The hymn shop’s open, boys ‘n’ girls… and not very crowded, just now.
I don’t recall hearing this one before. The melody is familiar, but the lyrics are not.
It’s also sung to the tune of “The Minstrel Boy.”
This is not familiar to me, but I like it. Another two hymns with the theme of a conquering Church are “Onward Christian Soldiers” and “The Battle Belongs to the Lord”. So, is it OK if I request both, since the hymn shop is not very crowded?
I’ll post them both tomorrow, Mike.
