‘Precious Memories’

Here’s another well-known hymn that I’ve never heard of until now. I had to overcome a “video unavailable” roadblock to post it for you.

Precious Memories, sung by Alan jackson…

  1. Oh, I hadn’t heard this one for years. It used to be always sung at funerals. I guess, for some people, the memories are not great, but I like it a lot.

  2. In case you need a hymn suggestion for tomorrow: Down From His Glory by Carroll Roberson– or anyone else you prefer.

  3. It is good to remember the good times. That’s what I like about Christian radio stations, they are always telling of the good things people do for others between songs and quote Scriptures.

  4. Here are a few of my most precious memories.

Why did I end up in the Philippines?

It’s a long story, but there is an intelligent, brown-eyed, 98 lb., 4’10” tall, beautiful young woman with long black hair, who spoke three languages with a cute accent, had a wonderful smile, who lived far away, across the deep blue sea, on a warm tropical island, who, one day wrote me a letter, and put her picture in it. Someone who brought great meaning, joy, and love into my life, a virtuous, godly woman who was still a virgin on her wedding night, whose laughter still echoes within my thoughts. Someone who passed on after just 17 years of marriage and 44 years of life, was deeply loved by many, and is greatly missed by scores of others, and now waits for me. It was she, my Maribeth, who brought me to the Philippines, whom I will see again someday …

From my book manuscript “7,000 Miles of Life Perspectives”

    1. Thank you.

So far, that seems to be the opinion of the few that have read the whole manuscript. If you would like to read it (or anyone else), I would be happy to attach a PDF to an email. It’s not a long book, about 42,000 words.
