I’ve been plugging away at the nooze all day, we’ve received daunting news from a dear friend, and while I was looking for something else, this hymn appeared on my screen: Jesus Saves, as sung at Synod 2012 of the United Reformed Church.
Lord, we can use some saving! We could use a lot of it. Hear our prayers, and be not far from us! Amen.
(Yes, I know I’ve posted this before. It’s one of my favorites.)
Hi there Lee. I read a novel from the 1980’s called Schoolhouse written by a Lee Duigon and I was wondering if this is you. I didn’t see it listed on the website but that book was so incredibly well written. I was finally able to get a hold of Lifeblood and should be starting it in the next week or so.
That’s me, all right! Good old Schoolhouse!
Coincidence: I’ve just started reading Lifeblood, which I haven’t read in 20 years or more. I must’ve been a great reporter: I’ve not the suburban Jersey township to a T.
I had four horror novels published back then, and after that a 20-year dry spell. Those novels aren’t on the list; they weren’t published by Chalcedon.
They’re all still available on amazon.
Good time for some real encouragement, and this is just what the world needs.
When I was kid and I saw Jesus Saves neon signs at night I always wondered what they meant by it.
This hymn’s a lot older than neon signs.
