The New Record

All the results are in; and in case you were curious about it, the new viewership record that we set here the other day is 849. And if only I knew what set it off! Whatever it was, I’d do it on purpose. Just might sell some books!

But really, 849–that’s like two way better than average days put together. And I have no idea what made it happen.

So that’s it for now. The old record of 644 stood for two and a half years. I wonder how long this one will stand. The fun’s over, it seems, but it was great while it lasted.

So Where Is Everybody?

I don’t know how these things work, or why: so I’m thoroughly puzzled by a recent decrease in this blog’s readership–down by about 50% from where it was all summer.

The fall-off seemed to start when referrals from Facebook suddenly dried up, but that doesn’t account for all of it. Nor am I aware of anything I’m doing differently, over the past two months. I can’t help wondering, though, if I’ve overdone it with the political news. Maybe a lot of people are just sick and tired of this presidential election. I know I’m pretty tired of it.

Is there something that you liked about this blog, that you aren’t getting anymore? If so, please let me know. If I’ve got to make changes, I’ll make them.

Meanwhile, I’d love to see what happens if more of my readers shared my posts on their own social media pages. All I can do is “post to Facebook” after I’ve written something.

There is no market research budget here, so I depend on you all to tell me what you want.

Closing in on 100,000 Views

My WordPress stats page tells me that sometime soon, maybe even this month, this humble blog will have attracted 100,000 views. It took five and a half years to do it

What is the significance of this milestone? Search me. The blog was created in hopes that it would help to sell my books. Having nothing with which to compare it, I can’t say how that has worked out.

But at least it’s been fun, and, I dearly hope, in some way profitable to Christ’s Kingdom.

Eat Lots of Cake and Still Lose Weight!

I have to go to the dentist this morning and I have no idea what will happen to me there. So I thought I’d better post something now, in case I’m not able to, later.

Meanwhile, I have a burning question:

Where has my readership gone?

In the middle of the month, the readership of this blog took a radical nose-dive and has not come back. Where is everybody? Like, I’m sitting here listening to crickets.

Was it something I said?
