A big, strong dog like this… and faced with four little kittens, he doesn’t know quite what to do. But you’ve got to hand it to him for gentleness. When I was a little boy, I was very afraid of my uncle’s German shepherd. It took me years to realize I didn’t have to be.

Dog won’t let you pet the cat. Can’t won’t let you pet the dog. And the dog certainly will not allow his cat to get into a scuffle with that feline riff-raff across the street.
Where did we ever get the idea that cats and dogs hate each other?

I used to play hide-and-seek with our family dog, Rags. He never got tired of it. Our cat Henry liked to hide on me and jump out and bite my ankle when I passed. Dogs and cats appreciate fun!

Behold a bunch of dogs afraid of cats. Some of them are three or four times the cat’s size, but they all act like they’re totally buffaloed. I suspect there’s something wrong with that metaphor, but I don’t know what.
Do cats influence dogs? I’m afraid we have to say yes.
Cats excel at packing themselves into tight places. This video shows some dogs trying to do it, too. They have a long way to go before they master this art.
This little kitten just can’t seem to get enough of the great big dog. Well, okay, sure–it’s a nice dog. The kitten knows that. Looks like the beginning of a beautiful friendship.
Here’s some behaviors you won’t see every day–not just from dogs and cats, but also birds… and a lizard. Funny: all the lizards I’ve had, all different kinds, and I never had one who would chase a toy on a string. Mostly they look at you and wonder if you’re all right.
