‘Joy to the World’

Yes, I know, I know it’s not Christmas yet. But there was this Fountainview Academy video of Joy to the World sitting there and saying, “Post me, come on, post me!” So I did.

This is a gorgeous production, and I’m not ashamed to say it brought a tear of joy to my eye.

‘Gaudete’ (‘Rejoice!’)

I usually save this for Christmas–Gaudete (“Rejoice”), a medieval carol performed by the Choir of Clare College, Cambridge, and the London Cello Orchestra–but has this fallen world ever needed Christ the Savior more than it needs Him now? “Rejoice, for Christ is born of Mary!”

That was the only “reset” that mattered.

‘Gloria in Excelsis Deo’

I said I’d play a Christmas hymn in August, so here it is–Gloria in Excelsis Deo, sung by the Libera boys’ choir. The lyrics are in Latin, but you can probably work out most of them.

Bonus Hymn: ‘Good Christian Men Rejoice’

Well, hardly anybody here today, only two views for that nice hymn that SlimJim requested–but maybe another hymn will do the trick.

This is a brand-new video by our own esteemed friends and colleagues, Joshua and Jeremy Swanson–an instrumental of the old-time carol, Good Christian Men Rejoice.

By the way, they’re not twins. Jeremy does seem to be growing kind of fast, though.

Joshua & Jeremy, ‘Good King Wenceslas’

That last post I ran was just a bit depressing. We don’t want to lose heart. We want to trust in God. We don’t know what to do, but He does.

So let’s raise our spirits with this: our own friends and esteemed colleagues, Joshua and Jeremy Swanson, with an instrumental rendition of Good King Wenceslas.

Because Christmas lives all year!

‘Sing We Now of Christmas’

I wonder if I ought to post Christmas carols now and then throughout the year.

This is an instrumental piece by Quadriga Consort, Sing We Now of Christmas, French and English traditional.

Christ must conquer.
