‘Draw Me Nearer, Blessed Lord’

It’s been a while since I posted this hymn–a real Sunday school favorite by Fanny Crosby: Draw Me Nearer, Blessed Lord. I wish I knew who was singing it here, but that information wasn’t available. Very nice, whoever you are.

We’re open for hymn requests all day, every day.

‘Draw Me Nearer’

This classic hymn by Fanny Crosby popped into my mind today–an old Sunday school favorite. Draw Me Nearer, Blessed Lord–ah, how that takes me back to sweet times! And the flowers on display: God’s handiwork.

‘Draw Me Nearer,’ from 1906

This recording of Fanny Crosby’s classic hymn, Draw Me Nearer, Blessed Lord, was made in 1906, when she would have still been alive to hear it. Nothing like the Edison photograph was even dreamed of when she was born in 1820. She died in 1915, after writing more than 8,000 hymns–most of which are still sung today.

Again, ‘Draw Me Nearer, Blessed Lord’

A Fanny Crosby hymn, sung the way she wrote it–this is the congregation at Cleveland Baptist Church singing Draw Me Nearer, Blessed Lord.

The age is evil, so sing louder.
