Yes, I usually save this hymn for Christmas-time. But I don’t really have to, do I? Quite simply, this is a hymn I want to hear today: sung by the Libera boys’ choir, Gloria in Excelsis Deo. Some of you will be able to work out the Latin even if you’ve never studied it.
I said I’d play a Christmas hymn in August, so here it is–Gloria in Excelsis Deo, sung by the Libera boys’ choir. The lyrics are in Latin, but you can probably work out most of them.
I didn’t realize this was going to turn out to be (only in Latin) Angels We Have Heard on High; but once he started singing, I didn’t want Andrea Bocelli to stop. Gloria in Excelsis Deo, “Glory to God in the Highest”–none the worse for being heard in June.

This was the first hymn that popped into my head this morning, so that’s why it’s posted–Gloria in Excelsis Deo, sung by the Libera boys’ choir, melody by St. Saens. I usually play this around Christmastime, but maybe we need it today.
I usually post this at Christmastime, but I’m glad I saved it for today. I don’t know about you, but I need its beauty. The beauty of holiness (Psalm 110).
