‘Sweeping Through the Gates of New Jerusalem’
I found this by accident today, and I want to share it with you–Sweeping Through the Gates of New Jerusalem: another allusion to St. John’s vision of the New Jerusalem descending to the regenerated Earth.
It’s been a few days since anybody requested a hymn, so let me once again invite you all to do so. If I can find it, I’ll post it.

This isn’t exactly the format in which Erlene requested this hymn; but when I watched this video of a hall full of U.S. Marines singing it, I couldn’t resist: Days of Elijah. It stirred my soul. May it stir yours, too.
Yes, I know this song–not to mention the Marines–will make some people highly nervous. It celebrates God’s earthly heroes of the Old Testament, Moses and the Prophets, and David, as forerunners and types of Jesus Christ Our Lord. I defy you to remain unmoved when these Marines burst out, “There is no God like Jehovah!”

I am not easily moved by music videos, but this one brought me close to tears: I Can Only Imagine, by Mercy Me (requested by Weavingword).
Pay close attention to the lyrics and the images. A lot of thought went into this creation. And then you won’t be amazed that someone, commenting on the youtube page, said he was “a borderline atheist” until he heard this song.
This is an evil age in a fallen world, but the Holy Spirit is at work. Always. He that keepeth Israel shall neither slumber nor sleep.

For me this is one of those “Praise Him anyway!” days (thank you, Joyce, for that concept). It’s always a shock to me to go to the doctor and hear a lot of things I don’t understand.
